An .odp file is a slideshow saved in the OpenDocument Presentation format. ODP files are similar to PowerPoint presentation (.pptx) files. Students (and others) who do not have access to Microsoft PowerPoint may save presentations they have created using LibreOffice Impress or Google Slides as ODP files.

To make an ODP file easier to use with Microsoft PowerPoint and Apple Numbers, you may want to convert it to the PPTX format. You can also convert an ODP file to the PDF (.pdf), JPEG (.jpeg), or PNG (.png) format, if you want to view its contents outside a presentation program (e.g. in a web browser). However, converting an ODP file to these formats will remove your ability to edit the presentation.
